2026 Tsinghua PBCSF Alumni Development Forum Opens in Beijing

On April 24, 2026, the 7th Tsinghua PBCSF Alumni Development Forum and the 5th Alumni Lifelong Learning Day opened in Beijing. This year marks the 115th anniversary of Tsinghua University, the 45th anniversary of Wudaokou’s founding, and the 15th anniversary of the School. Under the theme “Wisteria Bears Our Legacy, Bloom Lights the Way Home,” the forum brought together alumni, faculty, and students to engage in discussions on topics such as innovation in the sci-tech ecosystem, digital finance supporting the real economy, technology-driven financial transformation, and collaborative alumni development.


School leadership, heads of departments, alumni council members, and alumni, faculty, and students across programs including the PhD in Finance, Master of Finance, Master of Sci-Tech and Finance, Finance MBA, Finance EMBA, and executive education programs, as well as invited guests, attended the forum.


Plenary Session


At the plenary session held on the morning of April 24, Li Jinliang, CPC Committee Secretary of Tsinghua PBCSF, delivered welcome remarks. Jiao Jie, Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF and President of the Tsinghua PBCSF Alumni Association, gave an overview of the School’s development. Zhang Xiaoyan, Associate Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF, and Yuan Yuan, Assistant Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF, attended the forum. The session was moderated by Zhang Wei, Assistant Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF and Vice President of the Tsinghua PBCSF Alumni Association. Keynote speeches were delivered by Ding Zhijie, Director of the Institute of Finance, People’s Bank of China; Peng Wensheng, an alumnus of the Class of 1986, Chief Economist and Head of Research at China International Capital Corporation (CICC); and Shi Kang, Chair Professor at Tsinghua PBCSF.


The themed forum session, “The Convergence of Finance and Technology,” was moderated by Ma Rongbao, an alumnus of the Class of 2003 (Master’s) and 2007 (PhD), an alumni council member of the Tsinghua PBCSF Alumni Association, and Head of AIA Group’s Beijing Representative Office. Chen Weiliang, an alumnus of Tsinghua University’s Department of Microelectronics (Class of 1999, Master’s; Class of 2020, PhD) and Founder, Chairman, and CEO of MetaX Integrated Circuits, delivered a keynote speech. Panelists included Ma Donghao, an alumnus of the Class of 1993 (Master’s) and Chairman and CEO of Junfeng Capital; Zou Chuanwei, an alumnus of the Class of 2008 (PhD) and Director of the Jiangsu Institute of Digital Finance and Technology; Zhao Feng, an alumnus of the Class of 2023 (EMBA) and Founder and Chairman of Fengnian Capital; and Chen Weiliang.

The forum will span two days, with all sessions closely centered on key themes such as “Frontiers of Technological Innovation,” “The Future in the Intelligent Era,” and “Collaborative Alumni Development.” During the forum, three themed sessions will be held, focusing on technological transformation and alumni ecosystem development. These sessions are jointly organized by the Alumni Affairs Office and the Center for Alumni Development in collaboration with the Finance MBA Center, Finance EMBA Center, and Executive Education Center. In addition, a series of alumni activities will be held concurrently, including the Alumni Council Meeting, alumni donation events, Alumni Night, Student Festival, and laboratory visits.


The forum is hosted by Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance and the Tsinghua PBCSF Alumni Association, organized by the Alumni Affairs Office and the Center for Alumni Development, with Tsinghua Financial Review serving as the official media partner.


This forum also marks the fifth in-person Alumni Lifelong Learning Day. In recent years, the School has continuously promoted lifelong learning among alumni through online platforms such as Tsinghua PBCSF Cloud Classroom, Online Lecture Series, and Micro Finance Classes, providing alumni with access to courses, lectures, forums, and academic events. The School also shares learning opportunities from the Tsinghua Alumni Association, encouraging lifelong learning and supporting alumni development.
